I have to give Sylvia Hubbard her props – this book was a short one = a quickie and Sylvia managed to charge a reasonable price and deliver a good story as well. The romance for Prince was a little too short – but I do love how the characters in the stories connrct in some way. ..

Cabin Fever: Heart of Detroit SeriesCabin Fever is good book. I really love how the author brought Prince and Naomi together before she found out that it was Prince who was suppose to protect her the night she got attack by an angry wife. Lethal Heart is a force to be wreckin with in the story because is very protected of Naomi. Prince Heart really did give Naomi a weekend to remember to bad she thought it was the other man she met on the internet. But in end Prince was able to tell Naomi how he really feel about her. This is another book that didn’t have a dramatic cliffhanger but still a fantasic read if you are familar with the Heart of Detroit Series.

No, I’m not talking about any wedding – especially for me. Nor am I referring to the first day of the year. I’m talking about Sin’s Iniquity, my personal live story blog that I do for a whole month.
Sinclaire wants simplicity in her life. In order to prove her self worth to her ungrateful and evil mother, she is studying for the bar and in no way does she want any one or anything to get in the way of her goal. That is until Dwight Bowman steps into her life and wants to very much get to know the plain Sinclaire. Despite what she wants to prove to her mother, Sinclaire can’t help her attraction to the wealthy powerful gorgeous Dwight and gives in to her heart. Yet, sins of the past are destined to tear them apart or kill them in the process of being revealed.
Second, about the blog:
A live story blog is my cure to defeat writer’s block. I post chapters of the book live for my readers, which are usually thought of about an hour to seconds before I post. That means my readers get to see what I’m writing only seconds after I think about it.
It sounds hard doesn’t it? It is sometimes, but it’s a challenge and I love a challenge. It’s actually fun because I get instant feedback from my readers right away about my writing.
Third: About the Characters (which is why I’m writing this blog)
Before I blog, in my head I’m mapping out the story. I don’t try to write anything down because I want love surprising myself and since I’m a character driven writer, I usually let my characters lead the story where it might. I just set down the foundation of the story and go from there. It’s like playing that video game the SIMS (I think that’s the name). You just set up the world and then let them do whatever they want. I’m the story teller and give my readers a glimpse into these characters lives for this period.
Well, my male hero started off an African American. He was a strong black man surviving on the mean streets of Chicago with two kids by himself. To bring more conflict to the story, I changed him to a white man living on the streets with mixed children and the adversity that he had to face. On top of this, I also changed the characters name from Christopher to Dwight. Not because of his ethnicity, but because my fingers were tired of typing that long name. LOL.
Why did I do such a thing?
Well, Sin’s Iniquity started off with a basic story line. A woman trying to get respect from her mother and thinking she can do it by improving herself as a person by going to law school. Then I needed a back storyline for Dwight, the male character. And the more adversity for him, the better to explain why he has such a calming demeanor. The man can’t go anywhere but up at this point.
I hope you join me on my journey to Sin’s Iniquity. I hope to keep you on your toes and I hope you comment often and vehemently! LOL.
Busy busy busy weekend. and i thank you for your patience.
I’m exhausted as all get out, but I’m going to keep this up.
Here’s a little and there’s is more to come…
enjoy….
Passing her some paper, she ordered, “Give me the information to contact him now.”
Pari hesitated, but took the pen and paper offered and wrote down what she knew. “You didn’t hear anything from me, Jen.”
“I just want to know the truth and I want my questions answered.”
Sarcastically, Pari asked, “Is there any more questions I can answer.”
“Yes, how did I get to the hospital?”
“The ambulance. The detective called them immediately when you wouldn’t come to. He stayed for a long while but you were sleeping like a baby. Almost snorting.”
Jen’s sense of humor had gone out of the door as soon as she found out she was pregnant. “But you said Mr. Black had come. Was he there to pick me up?”
“How should I know? I was trying not to attract any attention. Did you forget I’m spying on him?”
“You haven’t outright said you were spying.”
“I am and I don’t want you to go around telling my business.”
“To whom?” Jen asked. It was her turn to get sarcastic. “Have you seen friends dripping off my every word?”
Pari sniggered. “You do lead a very lonely life.”
“Where did Mr. Black go?”
“I told you I wasn’t trying to clock him, Jen.” She immediately became serious.
“Give me the paper so I can go.”
When Pari handed her the information, she turned around to leave.
“Wait!” Pari exclaimed. “What about my journal?”
“You’ll get your stuff when I get the truth.”
“I could beat your ass for it.”
“I’ve been beaten all my life, Pari – Emotionally, physically, and verbally. I don’t think I can imagine another form of punishment for my soul, but form everything I can say I’m here. I’m alive and I don’t think you can beat me down enough that I won’t get back up. I’m going to fight you and anyone else who thinks they can try to keep me down. I’ve tasted life and you know what, I kind of like it and I want to keep what little I have.” She touched her stomach tenderly. Looking down as if she was holding her baby right then, she felt a lump in her chest. “I need you because you have answers and I’m going to use you how I see fit in order to get what I want, since you said yourself, I can’t trust anyone.”
This time when she turned to walk out, Pari did nothing or said nothing to stop her. She was surprised to see that the taxi driver had stayed where he was even though she didn’t tell him to stay.
“Hey you!” JayC called from the door holding up a red envelope.
Going over to her, she held out her hand and nervously took the envelope. “Where’d you get this?”
“It was lying on the counter when I came into work.” JayC looked at her suspiciously. “What you write him about?”
Suspiciously Jen asked, “What make you think I wrote him?”
“He wouldn’t initiate something like that.”
“Is he here?”
“No.” JayC said disgustedly. “Why would he be here?”
She couldn’t tell if JayC was telling the truth or not, but right now, she just needed to get some answers about Xavier. Her mind was doing flip-flops.
Jen couldn’t wait for another second to pass before she opened the letter just as she stepped outside the lobby and into the parking lot.
Dear Jen, I find myself drawn to the fact that you accept me as I am. Though I know I am your boss and lines should not be crossed, I find myself more and more drawn to anything and everything you do. It’s as if you are my private job and as I watch you, I am unable to resist the urge to know more about you. You are a unique woman and I want you in just a work capacity, but until this moment, I have been unable to admit it. Now, as we grow closer through these correspondences, I feel I can tell you. Even as I watch myself write to you, I can feel this need to want to be a part of someone’s life. I have to admit I’ve never felt like that in so long. I’ve always run away from reality and from anyone else that wanted to be close to me. I feared what human proximity could do to me, but now… now I don’t feel so much fear in me anymore – Not when I think about becoming closer to you. For that I want to thank you. For the first time in my life, I can tell you exactly how I feel and not be scared about repercussions or trepidation.
She noticed that this was the first time the letter was not signed, yet this didn’t bother her.
Turning the letter over on the other side just to make sure she didn’t see a signature, but there was something written in different handwriting on the back. Tonight midnight my office no lights.
Going back into the lobby ignoring the suspicious look in JayC’s eyes, she tore a piece of paper from a large notepad on the desk and quickly responded to his letter.
